International LT Recall 18V412: Fuel lines can overheat and leak, creating fire risk

NHTSA campaign 18V412, reported June 18, 2018, 19 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The air compressor discharge line on these trucks may contact the fuel filter inlet and outlet lines. Heat from the compressor line can damage the fuel lines over time.

Continued heat damage could cause a fuel line to rupture, leading to a fuel leak and an increased risk of fire.

Owners will be notified. Dealers will replace the straight fitting on the air compressor discharge line and the discharge line itself with a 45-degree fitting and a redesigned line, free of charge. You can contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825 (recall number 18511), and check your VIN for open recalls.
