- Problem
- KZRV, L.P. (KZRV) is recalling various 2002-2018 recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. See a list of the affected trailer models at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V749-9547.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. What this recall means for you
The fire extinguisher in these trailers may become clogged, so it may not discharge as expected, or it may need excessive force to activate. In some models, the nozzle can also detach from the valve assembly with enough force to cause injury and make the extinguisher unusable.
If a fire breaks out and the extinguisher does not work properly, the risk of injury increases. Owners should not rely on the extinguisher until it has been replaced.
The replacement extinguisher is free. Contact Kidde at 1-855-262-3540 or visit www.kidde.com and click "Product Safety Recall", or contact KZRV customer service at 1-800-768-4016, extension 154 or 153. You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
