What this recall means for you
Some vans were built without a driveshaft catch strap. If the driveshaft comes loose, it can strike and puncture the fuel tank, causing a fuel leak and raising the risk of a fire.
The remedy is free. Authorized dealers will install the missing driveshaft catch strap at no charge. Owners will be notified by DVUSA, and you can also contact DVUSA customer service at 1-877-762-8267 with questions. Check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your van is included.
If you have a recalled van, schedule the repair with an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer as soon as possible. Until then, watch for signs of fuel leakage and contact the dealer promptly if you notice any.
