What this recall means for you
Some 2016 Sprinter vans built between March 1, 2016 and May 31, 2016 may have bolts that were not properly tightened where the lower rear seat belt connects to the rear bench seat. Loose bolts can keep the seat belt from securing the occupant as intended.
If the bolts are not properly tightened, the seat belt may fail to secure the seat occupant in the event of a crash, raising the risk of injury. Owners will be notified by Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA), and the recall began November 18, 2016.
Sprinter dealers will inspect the connecting bolts and tighten them as necessary, at no cost to you. You can contact DVUSA customer service at 1-877-762-8267, and you should check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls.
