What this recall means for you
Some 2015-2016 Sprinter vans built with super-high roofs may be missing the required roof crash pads. These pads are meant to cushion the head of a front passenger during a crash, so if they are absent, an unbelted front passenger faces a higher risk of injury.
Owners will be notified by Daimler Vans USA, and authorized dealers will install the required crash pads at no cost. The recall began on August 11, 2016.
To check whether your vehicle is affected, look up your VIN for open recalls, or contact Daimler Vans USA customer service at 1-877-762-8267. Until the repair is done, make sure every front passenger wears a seat belt.
