Mercury Grand Marquis Recall 15V861: Headlights May Fail Without Warning, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 15V861, reported December 22, 2015, 296,004 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2003-2005 Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis vehicles built between October 2001 and August 2005 have a lighting control module (LCM) that can fail. When it does, the headlights may stop working.

Losing headlights reduces your ability to see the road ahead, especially at night or in poor weather, and can increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify affected owners, and authorized dealers will replace the lighting control module free of charge. You can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (Ford recall number 15S39). Check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your car is included.
