Chevrolet Trailblazer Recall 15V519: Headlights May Fail to Turn On, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 15V519, reported August 14, 2015, 429,170 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The headlamp driver module, a part that controls the headlights and daytime running lights, can overheat and fail. When this happens, the headlights and daytime running lights may not illuminate, making it harder for you to see the road ahead and harder for other drivers to see your vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash.

If your vehicle is included in this recall, General Motors will notify you by mail, and authorized dealers will replace the headlamp driver module free of charge. You can also contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300 or Pontiac customer service at 1-800-762-2737, and reference GM recall number 14291.

To check whether your vehicle has an open recall, look up your VIN on the NHTSA recall lookup or your automaker's website, and contact an authorized dealer to schedule the free repair.

Problem
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2006-2009 Buick LaCrosse, 2006-2007 Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT, GMC Envoy XL, 2006-2008 Isuzu Ascender, and Saab 9-7x vehicles.
