2014 International Prostar recalls
Back-Up Lights May Be Hard to See, Raising Crash Risk
Certain International heavy trucks, covering a range of model years, may have back-up lights that are hard to see when the vehicle is in reverse or in bobtail mode (driving without a trailer).
Fire extinguisher may clog or fail to discharge
Some trucks are equipped with Kidde plastic-handle or push-button fire extinguishers that may become clogged, so the extinguisher may not discharge as expected or may require excessive force to activate.
Connection can break, causing power loss and engine stall
A fuse terminal connection in the cube fuse can break on certain trucks.
Sensor May Stick Engine at High Idle, Hindering Truck Braking
The accelerator pedal position sensor in certain trucks can move out of position, causing the engine to run at a high idle speed.
Trailer May Detach from Truck Due to Faulty Fifth Wheel Lock
Certain International ProStar, LoneStar, and TranStar trucks built between 2010 and 2013 have Fontaine Ultra LT fifth wheel connectors.
HVAC Blower Module Can Overheat and Cause Fire
A double battery jump start or an electrical load dump can send too much voltage to the linear power module that controls the HVAC blower speed.
