TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GULF STREAM ENDS-BROOK SUPREME (NA). THE VEHICLE HAS FTS ULTRA CRT TIRES, SIZE ST/225/75/R15 (NA). WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE STEEL BELT SEPARATED FROM THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE, CAUSING THE TIRE TO COMPLETELY BLOW OUT. PRIOR TO OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE TIRE AND CONCLUDED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE AND TREAD WERE NORMAL. HE HAD A TECHNICIAN INSPECT THE TIRE, WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE STEEL BELT DETACHED FROM THE INTERIOR SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE. THE CONTACT STILL HAS POSSESSION OF THE TIRE. THE VIN AND DOT NUMBER WERE UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 3,100.
