The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the tailgate release switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V060000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages). The VIN was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
