2020 WINNEBAGO VITA 2018 MERCEDES CHASSIS. I was driving home on the highway on 09/13/2026 and the awning opened spontaneously about 8-10 inches, the plastic piece holding the lighting strip came out of it and broke into pieces, and the lighting strip came out of the plastic piece. All of it started banging against the side of my RV, and then somehow wrapped around the latch to my water heater and opened that door. It was terrifying. I was able to stop and remove one of the pieces of plastic that was hanging by a couple of thread stitches and then get the lighting strip rolled up and placed into my passenger side window. Today I became aware that there is a recall for this exact situation
