Ford F-250 SD Recall 26V653: Speedometer and tachometer may stick or read wrongly

NHTSA campaign 26V653, reported October 6, 2026, 102,159 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The analog instrument cluster on certain 2025 and 2026 Ford heavy-duty pickups and related models can have a tachometer and speedometer that become stuck or move erratically. The gauges may then show inaccurate readings of your speed and engine speed. These vehicles also do not meet the federal display standard covering controls and displays.

A speedometer that does not show your true speed can lead you to drive too fast or too slow for conditions, which increases the risk of a crash.

Dealers will replace the instrument cluster module at no cost. Interim owner letters are expected to be mailed in October 2026, with further letters once the remedy is available, anticipated in December 2026. You can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (recall 26C46), and you can check whether your vehicle identification number is involved in this recall at NHTSA.gov.
