Infiniti QX56 Recall 26V455: Incorrect load label can let SUV be overloaded, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 26V455, reported July 15, 2026, 168,149 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Infiniti QX56 and QX80 SUVs equipped with 22-inch wheels have a certification label that lists an incorrect Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR). Because the label understates how much weight the axles can safely carry, the vehicle can be overloaded without the driver realizing it. The vehicles also do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 for tire selection and rims.

An overloaded vehicle can increase the risk of a crash. Owners should not assume their vehicle is safe to load to the limit shown on the label until the correction is made.

The repair is free. Authorized dealers will install new labels at no cost, and Nissan will also mail replacement labels to owners. Owners who received an interim letter dated September 2, 2026 will get another letter once the final remedy is available, anticipated in fall 2026. You can contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669, and you can check your VIN for open recalls on NHTSA.gov.
