Nova Bus LFS Recall 26V355: Low air brake warning light may not illuminate when engine is off

NHTSA campaign 26V355, reported June 2, 2026, 5,662 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Nova Bus LFS transit buses may have a low brake air pressure warning light that fails to illuminate when the engine is off. The vehicles also do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 121, which covers air brake systems.

Because the warning light may not come on, the driver may not be alerted to low brake pressure. If the parking brake is released before the engine is started, this increases the risk of a crash.

Nova Bus will update the vehicle firmware at no cost. Interim notification letters were mailed by July 17, 2026, and owners will receive another notice once the remedy is available. Owners can contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410 and reference recall number CR5918. VINs involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning October 2, 2026, so check your VIN for open recalls.
