Grand Design Lineage Recall 26V174: Entry Steps May Extend While Driving, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 26V174, reported March 20, 2026, 1,127 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2025-2026 Grand Design Lineage motorhomes, the entry door position switch may not make adequate contact, so the system can fail to detect that the door is closed. As a result, the entry steps can deploy unexpectedly while the vehicle is in transit.

Steps extending while the motorhome is moving increase the risk of a crash. Owners should be aware of this hazard and have the repair completed promptly.

Dealers will reposition the door position switch free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 4, 2026. For questions, contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
