- Problem
- Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2020 and 2022-2023 Mercedes-Benz Metris right-hand-drive vehicles. Water may accumulate on the air bag control unit, which can cause the air bags not to deploy as intended.
- Risk
- An air bag that does not deploy as intended increases the risk of injury in a crash.
- Remedy
- Dealers will install a cover on the air bag control unit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning April 10, 2026. Owners may contact DVUSA customer service at 1-877-762-8267. DVUSA's number for this recall is VS2KORSRS. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning February 13, 2026.
What this recall means for you
Certain right-hand-drive vehicles may allow water to collect on the air bag control unit. If this happens, the air bags may not deploy as intended in a crash, which increases the risk of injury.
