Hyundai Santa FE Recall 25V808: Rearview Camera Image May Not Display, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 25V808, reported November 20, 2025, 143,472 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A wiring harness for the rearview camera may not have been installed properly, so it can become damaged and the camera image may fail to appear on the display. Without that image, the driver's view behind the vehicle is reduced, which increases the risk of a backover crash. These vehicles also do not meet the federal rear visibility standard, FMVSS 111.

If you own an affected 2024 or 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe or Santa Fe Hybrid, an authorized Hyundai dealer will replace the camera wiring harness free of charge. Owner notification letters began arriving January 15, 2026. You can also contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460, referencing recall number 288. Affected VINs became searchable on NHTSA.gov on November 22, 2025, so you can check your VIN for open recalls there.
