Ford Escape Recall 25V695: Rearview camera may show blank or distorted image

What this recall means for you

The rearview camera on certain vehicles may display a distorted, intermittent, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse. A camera that fails to show what is behind the vehicle reduces the driver's view and can increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will have dealers inspect the rearview camera and replace it as necessary, free of charge. The repair is being done in phases based on model and model year, so the remedy may not be available yet for your vehicle. Owners are being notified by mail, and additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available for each phase. Mustang owners were notified by letter starting January 2, 2026.
