What this recall means for you
After an electronic stability control (ESC) malfunction, the ESC warning light may fail to illuminate on the next key cycle. This means the system can have a fault without the driver being alerted, and the vehicles do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 126 for electronic stability control systems.
Without a warning light, a driver may not know the stability system is not working. That raises the risk of a crash, especially on slippery roads or during emergency maneuvers when stability control may be needed.
The remedy is free. The EBCM software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air update. Owners can contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782, quoting GM recall number N252515340. Owner notification letters were mailed October 15, 2025. You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
