Vinfast VF 8 Recall 25V559: Steering May Jerk Unexpectedly on Wide Turns, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 25V559, reported August 28, 2025, 6,314 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain VinFast VF 8 vehicles from model years 2023 through 2025 may have a driver-assistance system, the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), that activates during wide turns. When it does, the steering wheel can move unexpectedly, and drivers may find it difficult to override that movement.

An unexpected steering wheel movement may increase the risk of a crash. If your VF 8 pulls the wheel during a wide turn and you have trouble correcting it, stay alert and keep both hands on the wheel while the issue is resolved.

VinFast will update the ADAS software at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed October 27, 2025. You can contact VinFast customer service at 1-833-503-0600, and you should check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your car is affected.
