Ford Ranger Recall 25V541: Side curtain airbags may tear during deployment

NHTSA campaign 25V541, reported August 22, 2025, 100,900 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2024, 2025, and 2026 Ford Ranger vehicles may have side curtain airbags that contact the B-pillar inner reinforcements and tear while deploying. Because of this, the vehicles do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 226 for ejection mitigation.

Airbags that do not deploy properly in a crash increase the risk of injury to occupants. Owners should be aware of this defect, especially if they rely on side curtain protection in a collision.

Dealers will install protective shields free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 26, 2025. For questions, contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference recall 25C41. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
