Ford Bronco Recall 25V397: Rear Door Child Lock May Fail, Allowing Unintended Opening

NHTSA campaign 25V397, reported June 13, 2025, 27,768 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2025 Ford Bronco four-door vehicles may have a left-hand rear door that can be opened from inside the vehicle even when the child safety lock is set to "ON." The child lock is meant to keep that door from being opened from the inside, so this defect means a child could open the door unintentionally.

An unintentionally opened rear door increases the risk of injury. If you own a 2025 Bronco four-door, check whether your vehicle is affected, and use the child safety lock and keep children seated carefully until the repair is done. Ford will mail owner notification letters, which were sent June 27, 2025.

Dealers will inspect the rear door latch and replace it if necessary, at no cost to you. You can also contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, and you can check your VIN for open recalls on CarRecallWatch.com.
