Lincoln Aviator Recall 25V338: Seat Belt Chime May Not Sound Long Enough, Raising Crash Injury Risk

NHTSA campaign 25V338, reported May 23, 2025, 4,442 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2020-2023 Lincoln Aviator and Corsair vehicles with a Revel Audio System were repaired incorrectly under an earlier recall. When the driver's seat belt is not buckled and the vehicle is started, the audible seat belt warning chime may sound for less than 4 seconds. This means the vehicle does not fully meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

A warning chime that does not alert the driver long enough to buckle up can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Dealers will update the audio control module software free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 3, 2025. You can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls, and have the repair completed at an authorized dealer.
