Toyota Tundra Recall 25V322: Backup lights may fail, reducing visibility when reversing

NHTSA campaign 25V322, reported May 15, 2025, 443,444 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Moisture can get into the reverse light assemblies on certain 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid trucks, which can cause the backup lights to stop working.

If the reverse lights fail, the truck may not be as visible when backing up, and pedestrians and other drivers may not realize it is moving in reverse, which increases the risk of a crash. Owner letters were mailed May 23, 2026, and this is a phased recall.

Authorized Toyota dealers will replace both reverse light assemblies and repair the wire harnesses as needed, free of charge. Contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331 with any questions, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
