Freightliner Cascadia Recall 25V295: Air Tank May Be Too Small, Reducing Braking Power

NHTSA campaign 25V295, reported May 7, 2025, 68 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain heavy-duty trucks have an air brake reservoir (tank) that may be too small. This means the vehicle may not meet federal air brake requirements, and braking performance can be reduced.

Reduced braking performance can increase the distance needed to stop, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners should keep this in mind and be aware that stopping distances may be longer until the issue is corrected.

Dealers will inspect the air tank and replace it or install an additional air tank if needed, free of charge. Owners who received a notification letter mailed July 1, 2025 can contact Daimler Trucks North America customer service at 1-800-547-0712 (recall F1019). You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
