Kenworth T380 Recall 24V903: Wheel Bearings May Overheat, Risking Fire or Crash

NHTSA campaign 24V903, reported December 2, 2024, 29 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain heavy trucks may have front axle wheel hubs with too little bearing lubricant. Insufficient lubrication can cause the hub to overheat, which raises the risk of a fire, and it can also lead to loss of vehicle control and a higher risk of a crash.

Dealers will inspect the front wheel ends, replace parts with new ones as needed, and lubricate the bearings as necessary. The repair is free of charge at an authorized dealer. Owner letters were mailed July 21, 2025. Owners can also contact the manufacturer's customer service: Kenworth at 1-425-828-5888 or Peterbilt at 1-940-591-4220.

If you own one of the affected trucks, schedule an inspection with an authorized dealer as soon as possible, and check your VIN for open recalls.
