- Problem
- Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Grecale and 2024 GranTurismo vehicles. The Central Vision Park Assist Module (CVPAM) software may prevent the rearview image from displaying when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
- Risk
- An inoperative rearview camera display reduces the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of injury or crash.
- Remedy
- Dealers will update the CVPAM software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 20, 2024. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737. Maserati's number for this recall is 761.
- Notes
- Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to nhtsa.gov.
What this recall means for you
Certain vehicles have Central Vision Park Assist Module software that may prevent the rearview camera image from appearing on the display when the vehicle is put in reverse. The vehicles therefore do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 111 for rear visibility.
With the rearview image unavailable, the driver has less view behind the vehicle, which raises the risk of injury or a crash, particularly when backing up.
Dealers will update the software free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 20, 2024. You can contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737, and you should check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
