What this recall means for you
Certain International trucks have an antilock brake control module (Bendix EC80 electronic control unit) that can receive electrical noise or a weak signal. This can cause the module to process commands incorrectly or stop working.
When that happens, safety systems that depend on the module may have reduced or lost function. These include traction control, antilock brakes, electronic stability control, active cruise control, and collision mitigation. Losing these systems increases the risk of a crash.
The remedy is a free software reprogramming of the electronic control unit, performed by International with Bendix. Owners were mailed notification letters on December 16, 2024, and can contact International customer service at 1-800-448-7825 (recall number 24515). Check your VIN for open recalls and take your vehicle to an authorized dealer for the free repair.
