What this recall means for you
This recall covers certain 2024-2025 Mazda CX-90 and 2025 Mazda CX-70 vehicles equipped with a Dash Electrical Supply Unit (ESU). At vehicle startup, the ESU may not function properly, which can cause the defroster, seat belt warning, 360-degree view monitor, and, on plug-in hybrid models, the high-voltage battery cooling system to not work correctly.
Because the ESU may not function properly, the risk of a crash is increased. Losing the defroster can reduce visibility, the seat belt warning may not alert you if a belt is unbuckled, and the 360-degree view monitor may not help you see obstacles while maneuvering.
Authorized Mazda dealers will reprogram the Dash ESU with improved software at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 18, 2024. You can also contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500, Option 6, and reference Mazda recall number 7124J. Check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls to see whether your vehicle is affected.
