Nova Bus LFS Recall 24V558: Bus Brake Air Leak Can Cause Unexpected Braking and Fire

NHTSA campaign 24V558, reported July 25, 2024, 534 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some rear-axle brake chambers may have been improperly manufactured, allowing air to leak from them. A leak can cause the brakes to engage on their own, which can overheat the brakes and raise the risk of a fire, and sudden unexpected braking can increase the risk of a crash.

If you own or operate an affected bus, contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-800-350-6682 and reference recall CR5619. Nova Bus will inspect the brake chamber and replace it if necessary, at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed November 2, 2024.
