Chrysler Pacifica Plug-IN Hybrid Recall 24V536: Battery Pack May Cause Fire Even When Parked

NHTSA campaign 24V536, reported July 18, 2024, 15,910 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2017-2018 Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid vehicles that received a software update under an earlier recall may have a battery pack that can catch fire while the vehicle is parked, even with the ignition off. A vehicle fire increases the risk of injury.

Until the vehicle is repaired, do not charge it. Park it outside and away from structures. Dealers will update the high voltage battery pack control module software and will inspect and, if necessary, replace the battery pack assembly. All repairs are free of charge. Vehicles previously repaired under the earlier recall will need this new remedy as well.

Owners who received interim notice letters mailed August 1, 2024, or owner notification letters mailed December 12, 2024, should contact FCA US LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403 (recall number 73B). You can also check your VIN for open recalls and schedule a free repair at an authorized dealer.
