Lexus NX Recall 24V482: Front Head Restraints May Detach in Crash

NHTSA campaign 24V482, reported June 27, 2024, 11,418 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Lexus RX and NX vehicles may have front seat head restraints that can be pulled out without pressing the lock release button. Because the restraints do not meet federal head restraint safety requirements, a head restraint that has been removed and not put back in place can leave the driver or front passenger with less protection.

If a head restraint is missing or not properly installed, the risk of injury increases during a rear-end crash. Owners should keep this in mind and make sure both front head restraints are fully locked in place.

The repair is free. Dealers will replace the driver and front passenger head restraint assemblies at no cost. Owner letters were mailed February 14, 2025. You can also contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331, using recall numbers 24LB06 and 24LA06. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
