NHTSA campaign 24V457, reported June 19, 2024, 12,150 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2024 vehicles may have a trunk bed trim sail applique that was not properly adhered during manufacturing. Over time, the applique can loosen and partially or fully come off while driving.

A detached applique can land on the road and create a hazard for following motorists, increasing the risk of a crash. Owners should be aware of this risk, especially if they notice any loosening trim in the trunk area.

The repair is free at an authorized Tesla service center. Tesla will apply adhesion promoter and pressure sensitive tape, or replace the missing applique if needed. Owners who received notification letters mailed August 18, 2024 can contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
