Gillig LOW Floor Recall 24V390: Fuel Hoses May Disconnect and Leak, Creating Fire Risk

NHTSA campaign 24V390, reported June 3, 2024, 54 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some buses with Cummins L9 diesel engines may have fuel filter hoses that were not crimped tightly enough. Over time, these hoses can disconnect and leak diesel fuel, which reduces fuel supply to the engine.

A fuel leak near an ignition source can cause a fire, and a loss of fuel can stall the engine, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners should contact Gillig customer service at 1-510-264-5073 or 1-800-735-1500 to confirm their bus is affected. Cummins will replace the remote fuel filter hoses at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed June 21, 2024, and you can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
