Vinfast VF 8 Recall 24V369: Air Bags May Fail to Deploy in a Crash

NHTSA campaign 24V369, reported May 24, 2024, 225 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some vehicles may have air bags installed with inactive ignitors. The ignitor is the part that triggers the air bag to inflate, so an inactive one can prevent the air bag from deploying when it is needed.

If an air bag does not deploy during a crash, the risk of injury is higher. Owners should take this recall seriously even if the vehicle seems to operate normally.

The manufacturer will replace the air bags free of charge at an authorized dealer. Owner notification letters were mailed June 21, 2024. You can also contact VinFast customer service at 1-833-503-0600 and reference recall number VPAC-291. Check your VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is affected.
