Land Rover Range Rover Sport Recall 24V364: Rearview camera may fail to show image, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 24V364, reported May 23, 2024, 22,268 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Water can enter the rearview camera in the Surround Camera System. When this happens, the camera image may not appear on the display, or it may appear distorted. The vehicles do not meet the federal rear visibility standard (FMVSS 111) as a result.

A rearview camera that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, which increases the risk of injury or a crash. Owners should be especially careful when backing up if the camera image is missing or distorted.

An authorized Land Rover dealer will inspect the rearview camera for damage. If none is found, the camera will be fitted with a new seal. If damage is found, the camera will be replaced and calibrated. The repair is free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 18, 2024. You can contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837 (recall N901). Because these vehicles were previously recalled under 24V-023 for this same issue, the new remedy must be completed. Check your VIN for open recalls.
