Audi Q5 Recall 24V251: Passenger Front Airbag May Not Deploy in a Crash

NHTSA campaign 24V251, reported April 3, 2024, 91 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A loose electrical connection in the front passenger seat's occupant detection system control module can cause the front passenger airbag to switch off without warning. The vehicle may not show a clear sign that this has happened.

If the front passenger airbag is deactivated, it will not deploy during a crash, which increases the risk of injury to a front seat passenger. Owners should check whether their vehicle is affected and have it repaired promptly.

Dealers will replace the passenger seat occupant detection system control module at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 8, 2024. You can contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834, and you can also check your VIN for open recalls.

The repair is normally free at an authorized dealer.
