Hyundai Santa FE Recall 24V246: Rearview camera image can be blocked by a warning message

NHTSA campaign 24V246, reported April 2, 2024, 18,206 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2024 Santa Fe vehicles, a trailer parking assist message can obstruct the rearview camera image. This reduces your view behind the vehicle and does not meet federal rear visibility requirements.

An obstructed rearview camera makes it harder to see what is behind you while backing up, which raises the risk of a crash or injury.

Hyundai will release an over-the-air software update to correct the problem, so no dealer visit is needed for the fix. Owner notification letters began mailing May 31, 2024. You can contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460, and you can check your VIN for open recalls on the NHTSA website.
