Jeep Grand Cherokee Recall 24V131: Steering Knuckle Can Separate, Causing Loss of Control

NHTSA campaign 24V131, reported February 22, 2024, 250 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some vehicles have a steering knuckle that was improperly machined, so it may separate between the ball joint and the knuckle. If this happens, the wheel can fall outward and the driver may lose control of the vehicle.

Losing control of the vehicle increases the risk of a crash. Owners should be especially cautious about any unusual steering, handling, or noises from the front suspension.

Authorized dealers will replace the steering knuckle free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 11, 2024. You can contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403 (recall number 07B), and you should check your VIN for open recalls.
