Land Rover Range Rover Sport Recall 24V023: Rearview camera may fail to display, reducing rear visibility

NHTSA campaign 24V023, reported January 18, 2024, 58,729 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Water can enter the rearview camera in the Surround Camera System. When this happens, the camera image may not appear on the display when the vehicle is in reverse, or it may appear distorted. The vehicles then do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 111 for rear visibility.

Without a working rear image, the driver can see less of what is behind the vehicle, which increases the risk of hitting a person, object, or another vehicle and causing injury or a crash.

An authorized dealer will inspect the rearview camera and either add a new seal or replace the camera, free of charge. Owners of Range Rover vehicles were mailed notification letters on March 4, 2024, and Range Rover Sport owners received an interim letter on March 7, 2024, with a second notice to follow once remedy parts are available. You can call Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837, and you should check your VIN for open recalls.
