Ford F-250 SD Recall 23V507: Power Window May Not Reverse on Obstruction, Risking Injury

NHTSA campaign 23V507, reported July 21, 2023, 1,339 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2023 Ford Super Duty trucks may have a driver or front passenger door module that can experience a low power condition and reset while the window is moving. When this happens, the anti-pinch function may fail to detect an obstacle near the top edge of the window and may not automatically reverse the window's direction.

A window that does not reverse when it meets an obstruction raises the risk of injury, such as a pinched hand, arm, or other body part. Owners should be cautious when operating the driver and front passenger windows, especially with children or passengers whose hands or arms may be near the glass.

The remedy is a free software update performed by an authorized Ford dealer. Owners who received the notification letter mailed August 28, 2023 can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference recall 23S37. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
