Ford Bronco Recall 23V379: Incorrect Tire Load Label Can Lead to Overloading and Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 23V379, reported May 26, 2023, 29,607 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The Tire and Loading Information label on certain Ford Bronco, Super Duty F-250, and Ranger vehicles lists an incorrect load carrying capacity. Because of this, the vehicle could be loaded beyond what it is designed to carry, which fails to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 for tire selection and rims.

An overloaded vehicle increases the risk of a crash. Owners should not rely on the existing label for load limits until the correction is applied.

Ford will mail a replacement TREAD label to install over the existing one at no cost, and owners may instead take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to have the new label installed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 21, 2023. To confirm whether your vehicle is included, check your VIN for open recalls, or contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 referencing recall 23C18.
