Ducati Panigale V2 Recall 23V377: Headlights May Switch to Daytime Running Light at Night

NHTSA campaign 23V377, reported May 26, 2023, 3,315 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2020-2023 Ducati Panigale V2 motorcycles may have dashboard software that can automatically switch the headlight from low beam to the daytime running light (DRL) setting while in automatic mode. Because the motorcycle does not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 for lamps, this can leave riders with reduced lighting when riding at night.

Reduced headlight output at night makes it harder for the rider to see the road ahead and harder for other drivers to see the motorcycle, which raises the risk of a crash or injury. Owners should not wait to have this addressed.

The remedy is a free dashboard software update performed by an authorized Ducati dealer. Owner notification letters were mailed June 29, 2023. To confirm whether your motorcycle is affected, check your VIN for open recalls, or contact Ducati customer service at 1-888-391-5446 and reference recall number SRV-RCL-23-003.
