Keystone Cougar Recall 23V169: Travel Trailers May Lack Emergency Exit Window

NHTSA campaign 23V169, reported March 16, 2023, 276 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2022 and 2023 Keystone Cougar travel trailers may have been built without an emergency exit window. This means occupants may not have a second way out of the trailer during an emergency.

Without an alternate exit, people inside could face a higher risk of injury if they need to leave quickly, such as during a fire or other emergency. Owners should not wait to have this checked.

Authorized dealers will inspect the trailer and replace the emergency exit window if needed, at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed March 29, 2023. You can contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369 (Keystone recall number 23-440) with questions, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
