What this recall means for you
A missing electrical circuit can stop the trailer taillights from illuminating as intended when the trailer tow electrical connector is in use. The affected vehicles therefore do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 for lamps and reflective devices.
Trailer taillights that do not work as intended can make your trailer harder for other drivers to see, which can increase the risk of a crash.
Authorized dealers will add the missing electrical circuit to the engine bay wiring harness at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed June 9, 2023, and you can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 with questions. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is affected.
