International MV Recall 23V153: Driveshaft May Separate, Causing Loss of Power

NHTSA campaign 23V153, reported March 8, 2023, 660 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A rear axle spring wedge shim may have been installed incorrectly. Over time this can lead to failure of a U-joint, which may allow the driveshaft to separate from the vehicle.

If the driveshaft separates, the vehicle can lose drive power and the risk of a crash increases. Owners should take this recall seriously and have the vehicle inspected.

Authorized dealers will reinstall the rear axle wedge shim free of charge. Owners who received a notification letter can contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825 (recall number 23505). You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
