Chevrolet Traverse Recall 23V042: Left Axle Shaft May Separate, Causing Power Loss or Rollaway

NHTSA campaign 23V042, reported February 2, 2023, 10 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2023 vehicles may have a left-side half-shaft that is missing a retaining ring. Without this ring, the inner joint of the half-shaft can separate. This can cause a loss of drive power or allow the vehicle to roll away when it is placed in park, both of which can increase the risk of a crash.

If your vehicle is affected, take it to an authorized Chevrolet dealer, where the left-side half-shaft assembly will be replaced free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 23, 2023. You can also contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, and check your VIN for open recalls.
