Ford F-250 SD Recall 22V880: Driveshaft may fracture, causing loss of power or rollaway

NHTSA campaign 22V880, reported November 29, 2022, 18,808 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A radial damper inside the driveshaft can move out of position over time. This can cause the driveshaft to become unbalanced and possibly fracture.

A fractured driveshaft can cause a loss of drive power, and a vehicle may roll away while parked if the parking brake is not engaged. Either situation increases the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the driveshaft free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 27, 2023. To check whether your vehicle is affected, look up your VIN for open recalls, or contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference recall 22S74.
