Toyota Tundra Recall 22V854: Incorrect load label may lead to vehicle overloading

NHTSA campaign 22V854, reported November 18, 2022, 157 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2023 Tundra pickups with non-skid spray-on bed liners have a load carrying capacity label that may list less weight than the actual total weight of the installed accessories. The label therefore does not accurately reflect how much the truck can safely carry.

If the label understates the accessory weight, you could unintentionally overload the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash. The label issue also means these vehicles do not fully meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 for tire selection and rims.

Gulf States Toyota will mail replacement labels to owners free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 10, 2023. To get your replacement label or ask questions, contact GST customer service at 1-800-444-1074, and check your VIN for any open recalls.
