What this recall means for you
The right-side instrument panel cover on certain 2022 Ford F-150 trucks may have been manufactured incorrectly. This can prevent the passenger-side airbag from deploying as intended. The vehicles also do not meet federal occupant crash protection safety standards.
If the airbag cover breaks during deployment, fragments can be thrown into the cabin, and an improperly deployed airbag raises the risk of injury to the occupant in a crash. Owners should take this recall seriously.
The remedy is free: authorized Ford dealers will replace the right-side instrument panel cover at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 26, 2022. You can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, referencing recall number 22C23, and you should check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
